In 2012 I was recruited from the hospitality industry by Bethany of Waupaca, Wisconsin. At that time, their meal service was consistent with what you would expect from a typical healthcare “dietary” department. However, we believed that there was a better way.
Together we created a vision, planned and implemented some changes, started offering chef-driven menus and hospitality-style service, updated the nutrition program, and completely changed the culture in the process. Bethany is now the ANFP & NFEF’s 2017 National Foodservice Department of the Year!
